Being a Scout
Scouts are the oldest section of the Scouting family at 1st Titchfield for 10½ to 14 year olds. Our Scout Troop meets on Wednesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm during term time at the 1st Titchfield Scout hut at Titchfield Community Centre.
Scouts are a go-getting group of young people aged 10 ½ to 14 who:
- Master new skills and try new things
- Make new friends
- Have fun and go on adventures
- Explore the world around them
- Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond
Week in and week out, they gather in groups called Scout Troops to conquer the small task of changing the world.
What do Scouts get up to?
Scouts take on bigger challenges and learn the skills that shape their future through leadership, resilience, teamwork, and outdoor adventure. As a Sea Scout Troop, we offer a wide range of land and water-based activities, including regular camps, pioneering and navigation skills, along with kayaking, canoeing, and sailing. Scouts learn to handle themselves on land and water, working as a team, and taking responsibility as they grow. At 1st Titchfield, our Troop empowers young people to push boundaries, build real world skills, and enjoy unforgettable adventures on land and on sea.
Scouts Uniform and Badges
Sea Scout uniform consists of a blue shirt or blouse with your badges sewn on, and a scarf. Take a look at the picture below to see where the badges go.
