Cubs

Being a Cub

Cubs are the middle section of the Scouting family at 1st Titchfield for 8 to 10½ year olds. Our Cub Pack meets on Thursday evenings from 6.30pm to 8.00pm during term time at the 1st Titchfield Scout hut at Titchfield Community Centre.

Cubs are young people aged 8 to 10½ who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond

Every week, they gather in groups called Cub Packs to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

What do Cubs get up to?

Cubs are full of energy and imagination and our Pack gives them the chance to take on new challenges every week. From hikes and teamwork games to practical skills and creative projects. Cubs learn by DOING. As a Sea Scout group, Cubs take on water activities including paddling, water safety, and working together on and around boats. At 1st Titchfield, Cubs build confidence, independence, and a sense of adventure whether they’re exploring the woods or the water.

Cubs Uniform and Badges

Cub uniform consists of a dark green sweatshirt with your badges sewn on, and a scarf. Many members also have a dark green Cubs polo shirt which is practical for warmer weather. Take a look at the picture below to see where the badges go.

Visit the Scouts website for more information about badges and the sorts of activities you might take part in to earn them.

If you like you can also buy a book from the Scout Store with details of all the badges.
