Beavers

Being a Beaver

Beavers are the youngest section of the Scouting family at 1st Titchfield for 6-8 year olds. Our Beaver Colony meets on Wednesday evenings from 5.45pm to 6.45pm during term time at the 1st Titchfield Scout hut at Titchfield Community Centre.

Beavers are young people, aged 6 to 8, who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, on their own doorsteps and beyond

Every week, they gather in groups called Beaver Colonies to hop, skip and jump their way through lots of different games and activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

What do Beavers do?

Our Beaver colony enjoys fun, friendship and hands-on discovery. From outdoor games and creative activities to simple introductions to life as Sea Scouts. Beavers learn early water awareness, explore boats safely and build confidence around the water. If your young person loves exploring, laughing and discovering new experiences then Beavers is the perfect first step into Scouting.

Beaver Uniform and Badges

Beaver uniform consists of a blue sweatshirt with your badges sewn on, and a scarf. Many members also have a blue Beavers polo shirt which is practical for warmer weather. Take a look at the picture below to see where the badges go.

Visit the Scouts website for more information about badges and the sorts of activities you might take part in to earn them.

If you like you can also buy a book from the Scout Store with details of all the badges.
