Uniform

Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means you can run around and get messy without ruining your other clothes. It makes you feel part of a team. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out. And it gives you a place to show off all the brilliant badges you earn.

Each young person will be provided with a 1st Titchfield group scarf, woggle and badges when they are invested. You can buy the rest of your Scout uniform from the online Scout Store. If you’re not sure where to start, just ask one of the leaders who should be able to give you more information about what to buy and where to buy it.

What to Wear

During weekly meetings, you should wear the section appropriate jumper (Beavers and Cubs) or shirt (for Scouts), plus the 1st Titchfield group’s “necker” (scarf). Typically our members will wear a casual bottom half for comfort.

For special occasions – like an award ceremony, a parade or other public event – we may request that smart trousers and shoes should be worn.

For each section there are lots of optional accessories you can wear, such as t-shirts, hats/caps, hoodies, belts and more.

1st Titchfield Scarf

Each Scout Group has an individual “necker”, or scarf which is worn by members of all sections, as well as the leaders. The colour of 1st Titchfield Sea Scouts Group’s “necker” is primarily red, with a white border.

The necker will be given to you (along with a woggle and membership badges) when you are invested into the Group, and should be worn as you move up through the Group.

Neckers are worn around the neck, fastened at the front with the woggle.
